I regularly partner with Baltimore- area small businesses and nonprofits to teach independent workshops. Depending on the venue, these workshops are targeted for artists or absolute beginners. Please check back frequently to see what workshops have been added— I try to teach 1-3 a month.
Please get in touch if you’d like me to lead a workshop or teach private lessons for you or your venue. I am available for in-person or Zoom instruction for 1-5 hour classes.

Working from your own imagery in this workshop, artist-instructor Suzy Kopf covers color matching, textures achieved through combining household supplies with watercolors and the basics of using scraps to make a new art piece. Be afraid of perspective no longer, you too can "draw" buildings.

Looking for a low-key afternoon with your favorite matriarchal figure? Make a springtime bouquet and learn some watercoloring basics with me. Every participant takes home their flowers, original paintings and paintings supplies to keep going!
Children who can handle 3 hours of painting with focus are welcome.
Participants do not need to be mother/child, everyone is welcome (pairs or singles)!

Have you always wanted to try watercoloring but been too afraid to jump in? I’ll teach you all the basics of watercolor, covering the history and traditions of this media and introducing contemporary approaches. After our introductory first session, class topics are tailored to the interests of the students. Course content includes optional but encouraged homework assignments and weekly readings to get you painting regularly and contemplating subjects of your own choosing. No prior painting experience necessary.
If you attended our prior sessions of four classes, you may elect to skip the introductory first class and take the remaining three sessions at a reduced rate. Topics for this session of classes are selected collaboratively with the students!

This two and a half hour workshop is an introduction to classic watercolor techniques used for botanical subjects such as color mixing, reserving paint and glazing. Participants will work on completing a painting of a Stem and Vine plant and will learn how they can create their own botanical paintings at home!

Looking for a fun Valentine's Day event with your partner or just a pal? Have you always wanted to try painting portraits but were too intimidated to try? In this class, artist instructor I will teach you the basics of human proportions and walk you through watercolor techniques to depict hair, skin tone, eyes and everything in between. We'll go over watercolor basics and then switch off modeling and painting for one another. Enjoy some Valentine's treats and wine then leave with a completed painting of your partner or a good start on your next mantle piece artwork!No prior painting experience necessary. Pairs do not need to be a couple to attend, duos of all kinds are welcome!
