Marigold Garland Workshop

  • Speckle Studio 416 Cortland Avenue San Francisco, California, 94110 United States (map)

Join artist Suzy Kopf in making tissue paper marigold garlands to celebrate Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. This is a simple paper flower craft that adults and children can enjoy intended to honor loved ones whom have died. Day of the Dead is an annual pre-hispanic Indigenous holiday occurring in early November during which people build altars for their gods and the deceased. Designed to welcome souls back to the living world, most altars are heavily adorned with marigolds either alive or fake. Spend a relaxing evening at Speckle learning this craft and leave with your own garland to decorate your home and bring brightness into the coming season. All supplies are provided. Children are welcome with a guardian, should be able to use scissors safely.
